Robert Solstad converted cars into "Special Biltransport" in a small town called Høgsby in Sweden for around 10 years. Over time, the range expanded to include more specialised vehicles, such as camera cars and, their biggest seller, ambulances. All had three axles but retained front wheel drive. During this time approximately 200 vehicles were produced. The company ceased trading in February 1999, but at the time of writing I am unsure which years Solstad produced cars, but will update when I get more information.
In 2006 Robert Solstad formed a company in the UK, "Eurotransporters Ltd" but I am unsure if they ever traded.

One of the main aims of this site is to document known cars and especially survivors. Like the "Hoover" vacuum cleaner and the "Biro" pen, the name of Solstad came to be used for all 3 axle Saabs, whether built by Solstad or not. This site aims to document the generic vehicles, although if known to be a genuine "Solstad" this will be highlighted.
